1. Our agreement with you
These terms apply when you visit or use SkillHarbour, create an account, upload material, use a Skill Passport or buy a subscription. By using the service, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not create an account or continue using the service.
SkillHarbour is a career planning and discovery service. It connects information about careers, skills, learning and Australian job listings. It is not an employer, recruiter, registered training organisation, university, migration agent, financial adviser or government agency.
2. Accounts and eligibility
You must provide accurate information, keep your sign-in details secure and use your own account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorised access. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account unless the activity occurred because we failed to take reasonable care.
If you are under 18, you should use SkillHarbour with the involvement of a parent or guardian, particularly before uploading personal documents or purchasing a subscription. You must be legally able to enter this agreement to buy a paid plan.
3. What SkillHarbour provides
Depending on your plan and the information available, SkillHarbour may let you:
- build a profile of your career goals, experience and skills;
- compare your skills with mapped careers and job requirements;
- create a learning roadmap and track course progress;
- store evidence and share selected Skill Passport information;
- browse, save and follow links to courses and Australian jobs; and
- receive alerts, explanations and AI-assisted guidance.
Features, limits and catalogue coverage may change as sources change or the service improves. We will not take away a paid entitlement during its current paid period without a reasonable substitute, remedy or refund where required by law.
4. Career, course and job information
Career matches, skill-gap scores, salary information and recommendations are estimates based on your profile, mapped data and available listings. They are a starting point for your own judgement, not a promise that a course will lead to a job or that an employer will consider you suitable.
Employers alone control recruitment, interviews, employment offers and workplace terms. Course providers control availability, entry requirements, fees, course quality, assessment and certification. Government bodies and providers decide funding eligibility. Information can change after it appears on SkillHarbour, so check the original listing or provider before applying, enrolling, paying or making a career decision.
SkillHarbour does not give migration or legal advice and does not guarantee a visa, sponsorship, relocation support or work rights. Employers and Australian government authorities make those decisions. Seek advice from a properly qualified professional when your circumstances require it.
5. Automated and AI-assisted features
Some features use rules or artificial intelligence to organise a resume, explain a career fit, suggest next steps or help you understand catalogue information. These systems can miss context, make mistakes or produce an unsuitable suggestion. Review the result before saving it or acting on it. Do not use SkillHarbour as the only basis for an important employment, education, financial, legal or immigration decision.
6. Your uploads and Skill Passport
You keep ownership of resumes, certificates, profile text and other material you upload. You give SkillHarbour a limited permission to store, copy, process and display that material only as needed to run, secure and improve the features you choose to use.
You promise that you have the right to upload the material and that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge. You must not upload:
- another person's private information without permission;
- false qualifications, altered evidence or misleading employment claims;
- malicious software or material that breaks the law or another person's rights; or
- sensitive information that is not needed for your career profile.
A Skill Passport is private until you enable public sharing. If you share its link, you are responsible for the fields you choose to make visible. Turning the link off prevents future access through SkillHarbour, but cannot retrieve copies already saved by other people.
7. Fair use
You must not:
- use SkillHarbour for fraud, harassment, discrimination or unlawful activity;
- pretend to be another person, employer, provider or government body;
- scrape, bulk-download, resell or republish the catalogue without permission;
- probe security, bypass plan limits or interfere with the service;
- use automated access unless SkillHarbour has expressly approved it; or
- use the service or its outputs to make unlawful automated decisions about people.
We may limit, suspend or close an account where reasonably necessary to stop misuse, protect people or data, comply with law, or investigate a serious breach. Where practical, we will explain the reason and give you a chance to respond.
8. Third-party services and links
SkillHarbour displays information sourced from course providers, employers, job platforms and public datasets. A link may take you to a third-party website to apply, enrol or learn. We do not control that website or its terms, privacy practices, availability or content. Any arrangement you make with an employer, provider or other third party is between you and them.
9. Free and paid plans
The current features, usage limits and prices are shown on the Pricing page before you buy. Prices are in Australian dollars unless stated otherwise. Stripe processes payments. A subscription renews at the stated interval until you cancel it through the billing portal. Cancellation stops future renewals and access to paid features normally continues until the end of the paid period.
We may change a future subscription price by giving reasonable notice. Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law. If the service has a major failure, or another consumer guarantee applies, you may be entitled to a remedy. A change of mind alone does not automatically create a refund right, but we will provide any refund or other remedy required by law.
10. Our content and intellectual property
SkillHarbour and its original design, software, branding, explanations and compiled material belong to SkillHarbour or its licensors. You may use the service for your own personal career and learning purposes. You may not copy or commercialise substantial parts of it without permission. Third-party course, employer and job content remains the property of its respective owner.
11. Availability and responsibility
We work to keep SkillHarbour useful, secure and available, but online services and external data feeds can be interrupted or wrong. We may carry out maintenance, remove unsafe data or change a feature. We do not promise uninterrupted access, a particular number of jobs or courses, or a specific career outcome.
To the extent the law allows, SkillHarbour is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss caused by relying on third-party listings, failing to check original information, or using the service outside its intended purpose. Any liability that cannot legally be excluded remains unaffected, including applicable Australian Consumer Law guarantees.
If your unlawful use, deliberate misuse or material breach causes a third-party claim, you are responsible for the reasonable loss and costs directly caused by that conduct. This does not apply to the extent the loss was caused by SkillHarbour's negligence or breach.
12. Leaving SkillHarbour
You can stop using SkillHarbour at any time and can request account deletion. Cancelling a paid subscription and deleting an account are separate steps. We may retain limited records where needed for billing, fraud prevention, disputes or legal duties, as explained in the Privacy Policy.
Terms that naturally continue after your account closes—such as ownership, lawful record retention, liability and dispute provisions—continue to apply.
13. Changes, questions and Australian law
We may update these terms when the service or law changes. We will publish the new date and give additional notice for a material change. Continuing to use SkillHarbour after the new terms take effect means the updated terms apply; if you do not agree, you may stop using the service and cancel any renewal.
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia and the applicable laws of the Australian state or territory connected with the dispute. Before starting formal proceedings, both sides should try in good faith to resolve the issue directly. Use the support contact made available in your signed-in account for questions about these terms.
